Downtown Bellingham Partnership Announces 2019 Spring Wine Walk

[caption id="attachment_74903" align="aligncenter" width="600"] Downtown Bellingham Wine Walk[/caption] The Downtown Bellingham Partnership announced today details of the 2019 iteration of their annual Spring Wine Walk event in Bellingham, WA. A well-known and popular occasion for downtown, the Spring Wine Walk draws upwards of 700 people to the downtown core for wine tasting at different galleries, shops and venues. This year's spring wine walk will be from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. on May 10th. “We’re absolutely thrilled to be bringing the Spring Wine Walk back for a fifth year,” Lindsey Payne Johnstone, Events Director for the Downtown Bellingham Partnership, said. “This event has grown over the years into a community favorite, and we even have new things in store that will make this year’s event fantastic.” Just like past Wine Walks, attendees will have the opportunity to taste a variety of wines from local and regional wineries while shopping at their favorite downtown stores and discovering new downtown businesses.   While this year’s event carries over these traditions, new wineries and an expanded and upgraded VIP experience have been added for 2019. Tickets to the event are $30. Each attendee will receive 10 tasting tickets, a commemorative tasting cup, an event guide and a Co-op tote bag.  In addition to the general tickets, the new and improved VIP experience, at $50, includes everything that comes with a general ticket, plus access to a VIP-only reception at Vinostrology, early check-in to skip the lines, a complimentary glass of red, white or rosé wine, a free bag of popcorn and three additional tasting tickets.  Tickets for the event are on sale now and are expected to again sell out early. “Wine Walk is one of our most popular events and we recommend buying tickets as soon as they go on sale,” Payne Johnstone said. “Our previous wine walk events have completely sold out and this event will likely do the same!” The event is sponsored by the Community Food Co-op with additional support from Greenhouse and Bank of the Pacific.  As part of their sponsorship of the Wine Walk, the Community Food Co-op will be announcing details of a social media giveaway for pre-evening snacks and a chance to win tickets to the Spring Wine Walk. “The growth of this event would not be possible without our community partners,” said Payne Johnstone. “We are grateful for our title sponsor, the Community Food Co-op, as well as support from Greenhouse and Bank of the Pacific.” 2019 Spring Wine Walk participating businesses are:

We acknowledge that Whatcom County is located on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples. They cared for the lands that included what we’d call the Puget Sound region, Vancouver Island and British Columbia since time immemorial. This gives us the great obligation and opportunity to learn how to care for our surrounding areas and all the natural and human resources we require to live. We express our deepest respect and gratitude for our indigenous neighbors, the Lummi Nation and Nooksack Tribe, for their enduring care and protection of our shared lands and waterways.
