Experience the Food and Farming Culture of Northwest Washington on the Farm to Table Trails
The food, farming, and fishing culture of Northwest Washington is rich and diverse, and the most fun and exciting way to explore this region’s offerings is by taking a trip on the Farm to Table Trails. Whether you’re a local hoping to learn more about your backyard or a visitor coming to the area for a getaway weekend, the Farm to Table Trails have something for everyone.
Sustainable Connections is proud to announce the launch of their 2026 Farm to Table Trails, nine loops that invite participants to savor the sights, sounds, and flavors of beautiful Northwest Washington. On these trails, folks will enjoy bountiful harvests from u-pick berry farms, find the most decadent cheeses, and visit markets and farm stands for local vegetables, fruit, meat, and fish. These trails are available in print and digital forms – making them accessible and convenient, no matter the user’s preference. Once at a location, participants check in using the free digital passport, earn points, and win prizes, including tea towels, stickers, and prints with artwork by local artist Marjorie Leggitt. Visitors will earn extra points for staying in partner hotels around the county!
On the Route 542 loop, visit adorable markets, farmstands, and a vineyard – take in the gorgeous views with an artisan pizza, a bouquet of farm-fresh flowers, and a bottle of local wine. Explore Bellingham’s two trails, one featuring incredible farm-to-table eateries and the other highlighting Bellingham’s vibrant market scene. The trail in Bow-Edison brings visitors to cheese markets, darling farmstands, a brewstillery, and a u-pick blueberry farm.
“The Farm to Table Trails invite visitors to explore amazing food, discover new favorite spots, and enjoy our unique corner of Washington,” says Jessica Gillis, Sustainable Connections’ Food & Farming Program Manager. “These trails are a chance to support our food and farming communities and get an inside look at how food gets from the farm to the table.”
