Hertz Trail in Whatcom County is Temporarily Closed

Update: As of February 1, 2021, The Hertz Trail at Lake Whatcom Park is now open. The Hertz Trail was closed around the 1.25-mile marker due to a landslide. Whatcom County Parks crews have completed clearing the slide materials from the trail. The trail is now fully open and unrestricted.

A landslide at Lake Whatcom Park is affecting use of the Hertz Trail. The Hertz Trail is closed to all users near the 1.25-mile trail marker. Whatcom County Parks is assessing the damage and will begin cleaning up the debris in coming days. For your safety, do not attempt to cross the slide debris.
