Masks or Face Coverings are Required at the Saturday and Wednesday Bellingham Farmers Market

Masks or face coverings are again required at the Saturday and Wednesday Bellingham Farmers Market, regardless of vaccination status, effective Saturday, August 21, 2021.

Additionally, all food must be taken off-site, including prepared hot food. Food sampling is currently suspended until further notice.

The Bellingham Farmers Market made these recent changes, considering the rise in Delta variant cases, CDC and DOH guidance, as well as Whatcom County Health Department recommendations for everyone to wear masks when in public indoor places and crowded outdoor public gatherings. Masking adds another layer of protection from becoming infected or transmitting to others if they are infected, and when everyone is wearing masks, businesses and organizations can ensure that unvaccinated persons are using masks without verifying vaccination records.

The Market will continue to offer a valuable outdoor shopping experience, allowing the community to access farm-fresh produce, artisan food products, and craft items.

Additionally, the Saturday and Wednesday Market will still accept SNAP EBT benefits, Pandemic EBT benefits, and WIC/Senior checks. Through the “Market Match” program, the farmers market can match EBT purchases up to $40 which can be spent on fresh fruits and vegetables. Stop by the Market Info Booth to learn more.

The Bellingham Farmers Market will closely be monitoring the Covid-19 situation. The organization may make additional changes to its operational plan in the future. More information can be found on the Bellingham Farmers Market website: www.bellinghamfarmers.org.
