Zazen Salon Spa New Owners Promise High Standards with Local Pricing

Zazen Salon Spa, a leader in hair styling and spa services in Bellingham since 2000, has been acquired by Marvin and Lannea Riggs. “We’ll maintain the luxurious standards of Zazen Salon Spa, ensuring that clients feel pampered without paying Seattle prices,” Marvin Riggs said. The Lynden couple acquired Zazen Salon Spa effective Jan. 1. Located along the waterfront at Bellwether on the Bay, Zazen Salon Spa offers hair styling for men and women and an extensive array of spa services, including skin care, massages, nails, waxing, make-up, lashes and brows, and body treatments and wraps. The 1,500-square-foot facility includes an infrared sauna and also provides bridal services. “Our 20-person staff is highly experienced and many are longtime employees so people consistently receive what they want,” Lannea Riggs said. Marvin Riggs is a RE/MAX broker and previously membership director of the Bellingham/Whatcom Chamber of Commerce & Industry for seven years. Lannea Riggs, a lifelong Whatcom County resident and Meridian High School graduate, is a registered nurse and operated an adult family home for four years. Zazen Salon Spa is located at 11 Bellwether Way, Suite 102, just across from Hotel Bellwether. Its hours are 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekdays, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturdays and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sundays. Call (360) 715-1050 for appointments and visit www.ZazenSalonSpa.com for more information.

We acknowledge that Whatcom County is located on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples. They cared for the lands that included what we’d call the Puget Sound region, Vancouver Island and British Columbia since time immemorial. This gives us the great obligation and opportunity to learn how to care for our surrounding areas and all the natural and human resources we require to live. We express our deepest respect and gratitude for our indigenous neighbors, the Lummi Nation and Nooksack Tribe, for their enduring care and protection of our shared lands and waterways.
