Attend the Whatcom Farm Expo on March 4, 2023: There's Something for Everyone in Agriculture
Attend the seventh annual FREE Whatcom Farm Expo on Saturday, March 4th at the WECU Expo Building, Northwest Washington Fairgrounds in Lynden from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. This event offers something for everyone. If you already operate a farm and are looking for new ideas or markets, are thinking of starting a small farm, or are making the transition from hobby to business, come learn about resources available to help you.
This event is designed to be an informal meet-and-greet and networking opportunity. Visitors will find opportunities to engage with successful farm owners, market resources for local growers, community and farming advocacy groups, and much more. With exhibits for all ages, this event offers the opportunity to discover new resources to improve and expand productivity, animal and stream health, pasture quality, and homesteading happiness. The Expo will also offer information on funding opportunities through grants, rebates, and financial assistance programs.

The 2023 Farm Expo will include:
- Over 40 different exhibitors from all walks of farming including bee keepers, veterinarians, community organizations, specialists, and more!
- Presentations throughout the day from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on topics including irrigation, soil testing, creative poultry production, supporting native pollinators, creating compost from manure, and llama and alpaca care and success.
- A keynote presentation from 11 a.m. to noon titled Your Farm Starts with YOU: From Farmers, To Productive Land & A Thriving Business, presented by Kate and Ellie Steensma of Steensma Creamery and Marie Hegarty of Fair Cow’s Path Farm.
- Food and beverages.
- Live animals.
- Hands on demonstrations.
Hosted by Whatcom Conservation District and Whatcom County Public Works, the event is free, open to the public, and has activities for all ages!
