The festival, which usually takes place in downtown Bellingham each spring will again be shown online this year May 13 through May 22. This year’s films include eight features and 19 short films including animated films, documentaries and narrative films. Films by students, emerging directors and Indigenous women are also in the mix, including "Monkey Beach" by Loretta S. Todd, an award-winning documentary Indigenous director. “Monkey Beach’ is her first dramatic feature film.

CASCADIA International Women’s Film Festival, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting and showcasing the work of women filmmakers, was formed in Bellingham, Washington, in 2015. The organization also works year-round to provide film production, exhibition, and distribution education. More information about CASCADIA may be found on their website at www.cascadiafilmfest.org.

While Pizza is a staple on our menu, and our primary offering, we engage with the community and our guests well beyond just the food we serve. Five Columns—Thursday, May 20

Five Columns has been a Bellingham favorite since 2000. Before it was Five Columns, Dimitri (Jim) ran the restaurant under the name Rib n Reef. The owners, Dimitri (Jim) and Argedini (Dini) have been in the restaurant industry for the past 20 years in Bellingham. They were both born and raised in Greece and have incorporated a lot of family recipes and traditions into the menu here at Five Columns. Jim and Dini along with their two daughters, Soula and Niki, own and run the restaurant, making Five Columns a true family owned establishment!

We acknowledge that Whatcom County is located on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples. They cared for the lands that included what we’d call the Puget Sound region, Vancouver Island and British Columbia since time immemorial. This gives us the great obligation and opportunity to learn how to care for our surrounding areas and all the natural and human resources we require to live. We express our deepest respect and gratitude for our indigenous neighbors, the Lummi Nation and Nooksack Tribe, for their enduring care and protection of our shared lands and waterways.
