Celebrate Oktoberfest with the Best Craft Beer Near Bellingham

A harvest festival celebrated since the early 1800’s, Oktoberfest is traditionally held during the month of September in Germany. Here in the Northwest, we mix it up with some Oktoberfest events starting in September, and others held in October. Regardless of when they are held, Oktoberfest events are as good a reason as any to gather with friends over German-style lagers in the Biergarten.

Here’s where to celebrate Oktoberfest in Whatcom County in 2022.

Sunnyland Fest

September 15 - 18

Sunnyland neighborhood breweries come together to celebrate beer! Enjoy this pub-crawl style event and sample special beers from Kulshan Brewing, Otherlands Beer, Twin Sisters Brewing, Stemma Brewing, Wander Brewing and NorthFork Brewery!

Get a stamp on your punch card for every brewery you visit. Use your full punch card to enter a raffle and win prizes at the end of the weekend!

K2 Oktoberfest

September 17, 11 a.m. - 7 p.m.

Oktoberfest season kicks off in Whatcom County on September 17 at K2 in the Roosevelt neighborhood.

Expect live music by Sylvia's Oktoberfest Band, pretzels, and beer!

Amidst the festivities, take a minute to seek out their 2022 Oktoberfest brew (or any of Kulshan's award-winning local lagers). Chuckanut’s Kolsch German Style Ale and Pilsner Lager are world-class.

Oktoberfest Brewers Cruises

September 23, 24, 30 and October 1

Celebrate this Bavarian tradition of gathering to drink beer and enjoy delicious sausages, but instead out on a boat exploring Bellingham and Chuckanut Bays! Cruises run from 6:30 to 8 p.m. and include beer tastings and a Bratwurst Dinner Buffet. Enjoy German Lagers, Harvest Ales and Fresh Hopped IPAs.

Deming Log Show Oktoberfest 2022

Friday Oct 7 & Saturday Oct 8

We acknowledge that Whatcom County is located on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples. They cared for the lands that included what we’d call the Puget Sound region, Vancouver Island and British Columbia since time immemorial. This gives us the great obligation and opportunity to learn how to care for our surrounding areas and all the natural and human resources we require to live. We express our deepest respect and gratitude for our indigenous neighbors, the Lummi Nation and Nooksack Tribe, for their enduring care and protection of our shared lands and waterways.
