Date Announced for the 84th International Plowing Match in Lynden, Washington

Returning for its 84th year, the International Plowing Match will be held Saturday, May 16, 2026, at Berthusen Park in Lynden, Washington.

From 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, guests of all ages are invited to experience the skill and tradition of draft horses and their drivers as they compete in various plowing competitions. Following the match at 4:00 PM, attendees are welcome to stay for the Hall of Fame Presentation and Awards Ceremony on the field.

Admission and parking are free! To access the event, enter through Berthusen Park’s entrance located off of West Badger Road.

Lunch and dessert will also be available for purchase for those in attendance. NW Whistle Stop will be on-site from 11:30 AM – 2:00 PM (or until sold out!), and Sugar Shack Ice Cream Truck will be in attendance for a sweet treat from 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM.

Since 1942, the International Plowing Match has been a key part of the community, showcasing a unique aspect of agricultural history. It’s organized by the Northwest Washington Fair and the International Plowing Association, which is an active group of volunteers consisting of multigenerational plowing families and people interested in preserving the tradition of the Plowing Match.
