District Brewing Adds Kitchen Offering Pizza, Wings, Appetizers and Salads to Ferndale Site

Locally owned District Brewing Co. is reopening its downtown Ferndale taproom at noon Wednesday, Dec. 3 after completing the addition of a kitchen enabling it to serve specialty craft pizzas, the best wings around, appetizers and salads.

District Brewing also added some booths and seating improvements, plus a theater room that will offer a weekly movie night for children. The Ferndale taproom at 2000 Main St. will continue to offer beer crafted at its main brewery in Mount Vernon, plus the best guest beers, cider, seltzers, kombucha and non-alcoholic options such as root beer and orange cream.

Hours are noon-9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and noon-10 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.

Owners Mark and Amy Shintaffer launched District Brewing in 2020 in Mount Vernon, then opened the Ferndale taproom in 2022. Mark, a Ferndale High School graduate, and Amy Shintaffer have lived in the Everson area for more than 20 years.

“We’re a fun place for families and friends to gather,” Shintaffer said.

District Brewing also has a location in Lynden. For more information about District Brewing, visit www.DistrictBrewCo.com.

We acknowledge that Whatcom County is located on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples. They cared for the lands that included what we’d call the Puget Sound region, Vancouver Island and British Columbia since time immemorial. This gives us the great obligation and opportunity to learn how to care for our surrounding areas and all the natural and human resources we require to live. We express our deepest respect and gratitude for our indigenous neighbors, the Lummi Nation and Nooksack Tribe, for their enduring care and protection of our shared lands and waterways.
