Emergency Repair Outage Planned for Lummi Island Ferry on Wednesday, June 9
The Whatcom Chief will be out of service from 10:10 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Wednesday, June 9th, for repairs to the Gooseberry Point dock hydraulic system. The last maintenance outage revealed failures that must be addressed in a timely fashion, to avoid an unscheduled shutdown of the ferry system.
In summary:
- The Lummi Island Ferry will be out of service Wednesday, June 9th, from 10:10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
- The last morning run from the Gooseberry Point side will be 9:50 a.m. and the last morning run from the Lummi Island side will be 10 a.m.
- No additional runs will be made to clear the docks after the last posted run time.
- The repair outage must start on time; travelers should plan accordingly for island travel.
