BIPOC Walks: Low-Tide Exploration and Picnic

BIPOC Walks is a program by and for people of color in Bellingham to build community while spending time outdoors. We meet in a different accessible park once a month to get curious about local nature. This program is family-friendly and open to all ages. Come by yourself, with a friend, or bring the whole family to appreciate spending time outside and connect with new nature-loving friends. Celebrate the last month of summer with a potluck picnic and tide-pool exploration! Bring a dish from your culture (or any food or beverage you love) to share with the group, then hit the beach to look for cool sea critters - we frequently find sea stars, hermit crabs, baby fish, and even clams that squirt water.

Program is By-Donation/Free, but online registration is required to receive directions to our exact meeting location. To learn more or register, go to https://www.wildwhatcom.org/bipoc-walks

We acknowledge that Whatcom County is located on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples. They cared for the lands that included what we’d call the Puget Sound region, Vancouver Island and British Columbia since time immemorial. This gives us the great obligation and opportunity to learn how to care for our surrounding areas and all the natural and human resources we require to live. We express our deepest respect and gratitude for our indigenous neighbors, the Lummi Nation and Nooksack Tribe, for their enduring care and protection of our shared lands and waterways.
