Modern Meets Primitive

Cordata Gallery is proud to invite you to Modern Meets Primitive, an exhibition featuring the works by local artists Richard Nash, Brian O'Neill, and David Syre, whose works explore the meeting point between gestural expressions and timeless, elegant forms.

The exhibition looks at how modern art can draw strength from the raw, instinctive, and ancient—reminding us that progress and tradition are not opposites, but parts of the same creative journey. All artworks are available for acquisition, offering a chance to support local artists and to add to your collection.

Opening reception: July 12, 2-4pm

Open to public: July 12 - Aug 30, Tues-Sat, 11-4 and by appointment.

We acknowledge that Whatcom County is located on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples. They cared for the lands that included what we’d call the Puget Sound region, Vancouver Island and British Columbia since time immemorial. This gives us the great obligation and opportunity to learn how to care for our surrounding areas and all the natural and human resources we require to live. We express our deepest respect and gratitude for our indigenous neighbors, the Lummi Nation and Nooksack Tribe, for their enduring care and protection of our shared lands and waterways.
