Living & Outdoors - 3 Day Pop Up

Meet Rebecca Meloy at the September 5, Bellingham First Friday Evening Art Walk from 5 to 9 pm. Also, visit Friday, Saturday, & Sunday at Meloy Gallery from 12 to 5 pm daily.
Land bonds with Rebecca, and the proposed selling of public forests by the current federal government, to privatize and destroy them, causes her a loss for words to express her dismay this year. Trees, in all forms, are dear to her heart, as they were for her father. These recent paintings incorporate trees, land, and people living outdoors. Habitat destruction, forest fragmentation, and new wilderness roads exacerbate climate disruption. Sympathetic to nature, current political decisions, climate change events, and Rebecca's childhood traumatic memories of flooding and wind storms influence her art.
