Autumnal Wildcrafting: Natural Dyes with Northwest Natura

Please join naturalist and botanist, Jazmen Yoder for a day of foraging and crafting in this indoor/outdoor workshop. We will first forage outdoors, and then move inside where we’ll use the kitchen to craft a natural dye together. This course will focus on teaching you how to dye wool with nature’s offerings. *Pre-treated wool sheets will be provided to all participants to use in the dyeing portion of this workshop. *Pre-treatment steps will be discussed at length during our lesson so that everyone knows exactly how to treat fabric before using natural dye in the future.

This is a “trial course”, meaning, it is the first time this topic has been taught by Northwest Natura. So, class size will be limited to 6 people and the cost of attending is reduced by ~50% of what it may cost in the future. More info available on the Northwest Natura website. *Please register via event website.

We acknowledge that Whatcom County is located on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples. They cared for the lands that included what we’d call the Puget Sound region, Vancouver Island and British Columbia since time immemorial. This gives us the great obligation and opportunity to learn how to care for our surrounding areas and all the natural and human resources we require to live. We express our deepest respect and gratitude for our indigenous neighbors, the Lummi Nation and Nooksack Tribe, for their enduring care and protection of our shared lands and waterways.
