Mushroom Identification & Keying Course with Northwest Natura

A three-part series teaching you how to confidently identify wild mushrooms using field guides and dichotomous keys. Day 1 - Sunday September 28th, Day 2 - Sunday October 12th, Day 3 - Sunday October 26th 

These courses will have both outdoor and indoor location details. Exact details are TBA to registered participants. Expect Fairhaven, Bellingham, and Deming area as destinations for these courses. Registered participants will receive an email with details on location 2-4 days before each event. 

WHAT TO EXPECT: - Introductory lessons in Mycology - Mushroom ecology - Identification - Vocabulary - Taxonomy - Spore printing - Indoor and outdoor lessons - How to use a dichotomous key - How to use supplementary field guides - Field observations and collection for identification - How to achieve 100% confidence in your ID. 

You will be encouraged to also collect mushrooms on your own and identify them in class with help from your instructor. Meet 3 days this fall with the same group. *Register online.
