Conservation Celebration @ Boundary Bay Beer Garden

Let’s celebrate a big win for salmon habitat and outdoor education! Join us at the Boundary Bay beer garden to celebrate the conservation of 13 acres of wetland, forest, and salmon habitat on Kinney Creek, a tributary to the Sumas River.

Learn how Whatcom Land Trust worked with the Jay family, Whatcom Million Trees, Whatcom Transit Authority, and Explorations Academy to conserve this important habitat and field campus. The land will host a living laboratory for ecological restoration, climate resilience research, sustainable agriculture, and meaningful connection with nature. No need to RSVP, this is a free event for all ages, casual attire. See you there!

We acknowledge that Whatcom County is located on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples. They cared for the lands that included what we’d call the Puget Sound region, Vancouver Island and British Columbia since time immemorial. This gives us the great obligation and opportunity to learn how to care for our surrounding areas and all the natural and human resources we require to live. We express our deepest respect and gratitude for our indigenous neighbors, the Lummi Nation and Nooksack Tribe, for their enduring care and protection of our shared lands and waterways.
