Geof Morgan in Concert

Geof moved from New England to Nashville in 1973. In his nine years there, he had songs recorded by Ronnie Milsap, Barbara Mandrell, Dickey Lee, Ernest Tubb, and Charlie Pride among others. He received a BMI award in 1977 for airplay and his one and only single on MCA Records reached the Billboard Top 100.

His songwriting shifted and began to focus on more personal and social justice topics. His first self-produced album, It Comes With The Plumbing, in 1980 was followed by three more on Flying Fish Records. He moved to Bellingham and continued to tour and perform. He became a single father in 1992, left the road, and began a second career as a community organizer and facilitator as Director of a Whatcom non-profit. He semi-retired in 2015, but continues community work part time. In 2020 Geof began focusing again on writing and in 2023 he released his fifth recording, Morning Rising.

In this solo concert, Geof will share some of his favorite songs and stories.

We acknowledge that Whatcom County is located on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples. They cared for the lands that included what we’d call the Puget Sound region, Vancouver Island and British Columbia since time immemorial. This gives us the great obligation and opportunity to learn how to care for our surrounding areas and all the natural and human resources we require to live. We express our deepest respect and gratitude for our indigenous neighbors, the Lummi Nation and Nooksack Tribe, for their enduring care and protection of our shared lands and waterways.
