Casaundra May & James at El Capitan’s

We are always excited to play at El Capitan’s! Great food, lovely staff, local craft drafts, positive vibes & a group of folks who love Roota Blues…you could be one, too!

Inspired by the original recordings of the great blues masters, Casaundra May and James have condensed the music of the Mississippi Delta to its essence - a powerful vocal presence paired with traditional slide and finger style guitar. Casaundra May moves effortlessly from the Delta to the Hill County to the West Side of Chicago (picking up Tom Waits on the way) and James pounds out the rhythm on his pair of National guitars.

Starts: November 07, 2025

Time: 7 - 9 p.m.

Admission: Free!

Location: El Capitan’s
1201 Cornwall Ave., Bellingham, WA 98225

We acknowledge that Whatcom County is located on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples. They cared for the lands that included what we’d call the Puget Sound region, Vancouver Island and British Columbia since time immemorial. This gives us the great obligation and opportunity to learn how to care for our surrounding areas and all the natural and human resources we require to live. We express our deepest respect and gratitude for our indigenous neighbors, the Lummi Nation and Nooksack Tribe, for their enduring care and protection of our shared lands and waterways.
