The final 2.7-mile section of Mount Baker Highway (SR 542), known as the road to Artist Point, is now closed for the winter season.

Christmas at Bellewood

Whatcom County’s Bellewood Farms & Distillery is providing opportunities in December to take free photos of loved ones with Santa, ideal for cards and social media. Santa will be available at Bellewood Farms from noon-4 p.m. starting Dec. 6 and then each Saturday and Sunday in December leading up to Christmas Day.

“Santa photos with everyone from babies to grandparents are perfect for sharing the holiday season’s joy with family and friends,” said Eric Abel, president of Bellewood Farms & Distillery.

Caroling groups and musicians will perform periodically during store hours from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays in December. Attendees also may enjoy warm cider and adult beverages like Caramel Apple Brandy around bonfires. Bellewood Farms also offers gifts, apples from the recent harvest and an array of fresh-baked goods, including nine varieties of pies, cinnamon rolls, pecan rolls and more. Adults may head to the distillery’s tasting room and sample the distillery's new spirits.

We acknowledge that Whatcom County is located on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples. They cared for the lands that included what we’d call the Puget Sound region, Vancouver Island and British Columbia since time immemorial. This gives us the great obligation and opportunity to learn how to care for our surrounding areas and all the natural and human resources we require to live. We express our deepest respect and gratitude for our indigenous neighbors, the Lummi Nation and Nooksack Tribe, for their enduring care and protection of our shared lands and waterways.
