Lighted Stroll Through Pioneer Village

Volunteers of the Ferndale Heritage Society will again host a “Lighted Christmas Stroll Through Pioneer Village” event. This free event is a “giving back to our community” labor of love.

The second and third weekends in December, Pioneer Village will be open Friday and Saturday evenings, December 12, 13, and 19, 20 from 5 – 8pm.

Thanks to those board stamped concrete sidewalks, you won’t even get your feet wet as you stroll around the outside of the cabins, see all the park lit up with over 95,000 lights, hear Christmas music, and see costumed volunteers greet you from the porches.

We acknowledge that Whatcom County is located on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples. They cared for the lands that included what we’d call the Puget Sound region, Vancouver Island and British Columbia since time immemorial. This gives us the great obligation and opportunity to learn how to care for our surrounding areas and all the natural and human resources we require to live. We express our deepest respect and gratitude for our indigenous neighbors, the Lummi Nation and Nooksack Tribe, for their enduring care and protection of our shared lands and waterways.
