Ancestral Skills: Bone Tool Wildcrafting with Northwest Natura

Join NW Natura around a crackling fire this winter and engage in the ancient technique of turning bones into tools and art. Work with various animal bones to make tools like awls, needles, arrowheads, ornaments, or get started making something more ambitious if you’re interested in a long-term project. Option to craft multiple pieces to take home with you depending on your own pace. 

Students are welcome to bring their own materials and use materials provided. Learn about sustainable practices of harvesting materials from nature with an emphasis on respect and reverence for wild beings and the environment. Get hands-on experience with traditional and modern tools used in the crafting process Practice safe and efficient knife, saw, and file use.
