NYE @ Old City Hall

Kick off (or wrap up) your New Year’s Eve at the Whatcom Museum! Whether you’re a night owl or planning to turn in early, swing by Old City Hall for an unforgettable evening. Enjoy live music by local band Baby Cakes, two cash bars with cocktails and beer courtesy of Chuckanut Bay Distillery and Structures Brewing, sweet treats from Pure Bliss Desserts, and three museum galleries turned into dedicated lounges.

You read that right: this year we’ll have DOUBLE the bars, TRIPLE the swanky seating, and we’re opening up an extra bathroom or two as well. Less time in a queue, more dancing for you!

Admission comes with one complimentary drink ticket and a free Champagne toast at 9 pm as we count down to 2026 alongside Times Square in New York City.

6 pm: Doors open & bar service begins.

7 pm: Live music by Baby Cakes

9 pm: Balloon drop & Champagne toast to ring in the new year.

This is a 21+ event. Bring ID.

We acknowledge that Whatcom County is located on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples. They cared for the lands that included what we’d call the Puget Sound region, Vancouver Island and British Columbia since time immemorial. This gives us the great obligation and opportunity to learn how to care for our surrounding areas and all the natural and human resources we require to live. We express our deepest respect and gratitude for our indigenous neighbors, the Lummi Nation and Nooksack Tribe, for their enduring care and protection of our shared lands and waterways.
