Outdoor Fire-Making & Bread-Baking with Northwest Natura

Escape into the woods at the end of February and reconnect with nature! In this unique workshop, you’ll learn the timeless skills of fire-making and bread-baking while enjoying crackling fires, good company, and a beautiful PNW mossy woodland next to the Nooksack River at Boulder Creek. 

Here’s what you can expect from this class: - Spend the day outdoors learning fire-making techniques and the art of bread-baking in cast iron ovens. - Fire Skills Practice and Learning. - Receive guidance on what to forage for when building a fire in the winter season. - Build your own fire without a lighter using foraged materials you collected from the land, rain or shine. - Survival Skills - Learn how to build an optimal fire for cooking/baking and keeping yourself warm and dry - Outdoor Cooking - Learn the art of bread-baking outdoors under the guidance of an experienced instructor. 

Participants will be in groups of 2-4, each group has their own firepit. *Please register via event website.
