Sunday Morning Bird Walk: Winter Ducks of Semiahmoo

Get outside in the new year with Bird Bellingham! Join us at Semiahmoo for our first Bird Walk of 2026 on Sunday, January 11th. Get curious about the incredible wetland birds that flock to our region exclusively during the winter while enjoying incredible mountain views.

Bird Bellingham walks are always facilitated by an experienced female birder and naturalist, and are open to birders of ALL experience levels. We will meet at the first parking lot on the left when you drive into Semiahmoo, where you park to access the old cannery and bathroom facilities. We will then go on a slow paced walk, stopping frequently to observe and discuss the birds we see.

Bundle up, bring your coffee and binoculars, and come find your flock! Learn more or register at BirdBellingham.org

Starts: January 11, 2026

Time: 9 - 11 a.m.

We acknowledge that Whatcom County is located on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples. They cared for the lands that included what we’d call the Puget Sound region, Vancouver Island and British Columbia since time immemorial. This gives us the great obligation and opportunity to learn how to care for our surrounding areas and all the natural and human resources we require to live. We express our deepest respect and gratitude for our indigenous neighbors, the Lummi Nation and Nooksack Tribe, for their enduring care and protection of our shared lands and waterways.
