Community Builder Celebration

Join the Whatcom Family & Community Network for the 2026 Dr. Ken Gass Community Builder Celebration, a fundraising, community building, and networking event that offers time to connect, inspire, and hope together for a stronger community to protect our children, promote the wellbeing of youth, and support the families raising them.

Gather with individuals and organizations raising hope through Positive Childhood Experiences. Together, we can create a brighter, more compassionate world for all. This event will have dinner, dessert, speakers, and a raffle. Childcare is available!

Our Keynote Speaker will be Dr. Greg Hammer, retired Stanford physician, mindfulness expert, and author of “GAIN Without Pain: The Happiness Handbook for Healthcare Professionals” (2020) and "The Mindful Teen: Helping Today's Teenagers Thrive through Gratitude, Acceptance, Intention, and Nonjudgement" (2025).

Starts: February 18, 2026

Time: 6 - 8 p.m.

Location: Bellingham Cruise Terminal
355 Harris Ave., Bellingham, WA 98225

We acknowledge that Whatcom County is located on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples. They cared for the lands that included what we’d call the Puget Sound region, Vancouver Island and British Columbia since time immemorial. This gives us the great obligation and opportunity to learn how to care for our surrounding areas and all the natural and human resources we require to live. We express our deepest respect and gratitude for our indigenous neighbors, the Lummi Nation and Nooksack Tribe, for their enduring care and protection of our shared lands and waterways.
