Invasive Species Removal @ Catalyst Reserve with Nooksack Salmon Enhancement Association

After years of restoration work, the Catalyst Reserve is beginning to develop into a healthy and resilient ecosystem, and we need your help to keep it headed in that direction! Join the Land Trust and Nooksack Salmon Enhancement Association to help protect this vital habitat by removing invasive blackberry, which is overtaking previous plantings of native trees and shrubs. We will have tea, coffee, and snacks, and all tools are provided. We can’t wait to see you out on the land!

If you have questions in the meantime, email lauren.r@whatcomlandtrust.org.

Time: 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.

Location: Meet at 412 N Commercial St.
We acknowledge that Whatcom County is located on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples. They cared for the lands that included what we’d call the Puget Sound region, Vancouver Island and British Columbia since time immemorial. This gives us the great obligation and opportunity to learn how to care for our surrounding areas and all the natural and human resources we require to live. We express our deepest respect and gratitude for our indigenous neighbors, the Lummi Nation and Nooksack Tribe, for their enduring care and protection of our shared lands and waterways.
