Potluck & Square Dance

Join us for our March potluck and square dance! Don’t know how to do-si-do or allemande left? No problem! No experience or partner necessary. All dances will be taught by the caller. A live band will provide old-time music for your dancing pleasure.

If joining for the potluck, please bring a dish to share (if you can) and a label with ingredients for people with dietary restrictions. This is a non-alcoholic, all ages event.

About the band: The WAM Stringband is a part of the Western Americana Music (WAM) club of WWU. The WAM Stringband has performed at the North West Folklife Festival, the Bellingham Folk Festival, and at many venues in the Bellingham area. The WAM Stringband recently recorded an old-time music album, which will be released on Bandcamp soon.

We acknowledge that Whatcom County is located on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples. They cared for the lands that included what we’d call the Puget Sound region, Vancouver Island and British Columbia since time immemorial. This gives us the great obligation and opportunity to learn how to care for our surrounding areas and all the natural and human resources we require to live. We express our deepest respect and gratitude for our indigenous neighbors, the Lummi Nation and Nooksack Tribe, for their enduring care and protection of our shared lands and waterways.
