Birchwood Garden Club's April Meeting

April Topic: Gardening With Wildflowers with Molly Hashimoto. Doors open at 6:30 PM.

Our speaker for the evening will be Molly Hashimoto. Molly is a gifted artist and teacher who is loved for her patient tutelage as much as her remarkable paintings. In addition to many years with the North Cascades Institute, she taught at the Haystack Institute, the Sitka Center for Art and Ecology, and the Yosemite Conservancy. She connects students of all ages with nature and with their creative identity through watercolor workshops dedicated to Northwest and Western landscapes.

Molly has previously written three books. “Trees of the West,” “Colors of the West,” and “Birds of the West.” Her latest book is “Wildflowers of the West.” On April 1st she will tell us about wildflowers that we can use in our gardens. Please join us for what promises to be a most interesting presentation. www.mollyhashimoto.com

We acknowledge that Whatcom County is located on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples. They cared for the lands that included what we’d call the Puget Sound region, Vancouver Island and British Columbia since time immemorial. This gives us the great obligation and opportunity to learn how to care for our surrounding areas and all the natural and human resources we require to live. We express our deepest respect and gratitude for our indigenous neighbors, the Lummi Nation and Nooksack Tribe, for their enduring care and protection of our shared lands and waterways.
