Prototypes for Play | Rising Tide Speaker Series with the Zenga Bros

Join Paper Whale for the return of the Rising Tide Speaker Series on May 8, featuring brothers Christian and Benny Zenga. Through their work in kinetic sculpture, they explore how experimentation, community, and hands-on making can transform space and perspective. Ease into the night with live music from the Buddy Mac Band, a surprise co-host, and our Small Wins segment—inspiring short stories from community members turning ideas into action. After the talk, stick around for an intro to 2-step and swing dancing with Heather Haugland of the Honky Tonk Social Club, followed by an extended set from Buddy Mac Band. No partner or experience needed.

Tickets by donation, from $10.

We acknowledge that Whatcom County is located on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples. They cared for the lands that included what we’d call the Puget Sound region, Vancouver Island and British Columbia since time immemorial. This gives us the great obligation and opportunity to learn how to care for our surrounding areas and all the natural and human resources we require to live. We express our deepest respect and gratitude for our indigenous neighbors, the Lummi Nation and Nooksack Tribe, for their enduring care and protection of our shared lands and waterways.
