Emerging Young Artists of Ferndale

It’s About Time Cultural Arts Center is pleased to announce our new Show, “Emerging Young Artists of Ferndale”, featuring selected artworks by students from Cascadia Elementary, Horizon and Vista Middle Schools, and Ferndale High School. The Opening Event is on Thursday May 14th from 3pm to 7pm. The show will run through Thursday May 28th.

For this eclectic show, art teachers Chelsea Whitener, Susie Nickelson, and Isaac Martin challenged their classes with interesting themes: Cascadia Elementary students were inspired by the art of Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama’s blend of pop art and minimalism. “Imagine That!” was the wide-open theme for Horizon and Vista students. And Ferndale High students worked on mixed media self-portraits that explore identity through symbolism. We hope to see you there, enjoying fresh art from young artists.

The Center is open Thursdays from 2-5pm, Fridays and Saturdays from noon to 6pm; centrally located at 2013 Main Street in historic downtown Ferndale.

Starts: May 14, 2026

Occurs: Every week on Thursday Friday, Saturday, until May 28, 2026
Admission: Free!

We acknowledge that Whatcom County is located on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples. They cared for the lands that included what we’d call the Puget Sound region, Vancouver Island and British Columbia since time immemorial. This gives us the great obligation and opportunity to learn how to care for our surrounding areas and all the natural and human resources we require to live. We express our deepest respect and gratitude for our indigenous neighbors, the Lummi Nation and Nooksack Tribe, for their enduring care and protection of our shared lands and waterways.
