Make and Mingle Craft Night: Coloready Bird Paint by Numbers

Looking for a fun & easy craft night? Join us at the museum for Make & Mingle where we do the planning for you! Bring your friends or meet someone new as you craft, snack, and create together.

Each Make & Mingle workshop includes a kit full of supplies, light snacks, non-alcoholic beverages, chill beats to get the creativity flowing, and instruction from a museum educator to help you pick up a new hobby along the way.

Our June activity is a modern paint by numbers using a Coloready paint kit. Complete a bird study of a robin, goldfinch, or swallow using a limited color palette to create graphic, striking art. Each design is inspired by mid-century bird studies, reminiscent of works by Charley Harper. Using just three colors, you’ll have wall-ready art in less than two hours. Each kit includes a handmade A5 paper template, three custom mixed colors, and two premium nylon brushes.

We acknowledge that Whatcom County is located on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples. They cared for the lands that included what we’d call the Puget Sound region, Vancouver Island and British Columbia since time immemorial. This gives us the great obligation and opportunity to learn how to care for our surrounding areas and all the natural and human resources we require to live. We express our deepest respect and gratitude for our indigenous neighbors, the Lummi Nation and Nooksack Tribe, for their enduring care and protection of our shared lands and waterways.
