Drop Your Nets: Fishing Nets Recycling Drop-Off

Got old nets and lines taking up space? Drop them off at our Net Recycling Drop-Off between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Wednesday, June 24, at the end of web locker #2 in Squalicum Harbor.

Old fishing gear gets transformed into knife handles, industrial plastics, and more—and you skip the dump fees and hauling headaches in the process. It's a win for your dock space and a win for the working waterfront. All are welcome to stop by!

In partnership with Samson Rope and Net Your Problem. Funded in part by a public participation grant from the Washington Department of Ecology.

Starts: June 24, 2026

Time: 11 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Admission: Free!

Location: Sqaulicum Harbor

We acknowledge that Whatcom County is located on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples. They cared for the lands that included what we’d call the Puget Sound region, Vancouver Island and British Columbia since time immemorial. This gives us the great obligation and opportunity to learn how to care for our surrounding areas and all the natural and human resources we require to live. We express our deepest respect and gratitude for our indigenous neighbors, the Lummi Nation and Nooksack Tribe, for their enduring care and protection of our shared lands and waterways.
