'Ono Outdoor Concert Series: John Cruz

Hawaiian singer-songwriter John Cruz joins us August 8th for an incredible afternoon of music, vendors, food, drinks, and good times.

Join us August 8th for a milestone celebration! We are thrilled to welcome Hawaiian singer-songwriter John Cruz for an incredible event filled with music, local vendors, food, drinks, and good times as we celebrate 10 years of being a love letter to Hawaiian local-style cuisine and culture here at the Herald Building.

Known for rich storytelling, captivating guitar work, and soulful vocals, Cruz moves through Hawaiian, blues, folk, R&B and more with the kind of heart that has made him one of Hawai'i's most beloved artists. A multi-time Nā Hōkū Hanohano Award winner, Cruz also contributed a composition and song to the GRAMMY® Award-winning album Slack Key Guitar, Vol. 2. What to Expect: Come soak up the music, grab some delicious food and drinks, shop our fantastic local vendors, and celebrate a truly special artist alongside our 10th anniversary.

We acknowledge that Whatcom County is located on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples. They cared for the lands that included what we’d call the Puget Sound region, Vancouver Island and British Columbia since time immemorial. This gives us the great obligation and opportunity to learn how to care for our surrounding areas and all the natural and human resources we require to live. We express our deepest respect and gratitude for our indigenous neighbors, the Lummi Nation and Nooksack Tribe, for their enduring care and protection of our shared lands and waterways.
