Beginning Jewelry: Silver Pendants Workshop

In this exciting workshop, you will learn the basics of creating a stunning sterling silver pendant with a cabochon gemstone. Students will learn how to cut, texture, patina, and set a cabochon into a pre-made bezel setting on sterling silver. 

Students are encouraged to bring in several smooth stones and/or a cabochon of their choice. However, we will select ONE stone or cabochon. Preferably round and smaller than an inch, with a flat smooth bottom (that doesn't rock) and soft, rounded edges. 

Once selected, we will then turn your little gem into a stunning, elegant pendant. You will have the option of working in sterling silver, copper or brass. At the end of the class, students will leave with a solid foundation of metal smithing skills and a beautiful new pendant! 

Materials Fees: $25 +/- paid to the instructor by the first day of class. Cost of materials depends on the current market value of silver. Materials to Bring: Please bring several smooth round stones and/or a cabochon gemstone, a pencil and notebook/sketchbook, wear closed-toe shoes, and keep long hair tied back. We will take a lunch break, so please bring a bagged lunch or money for lunch out.
