Wild Mushroom Foray with Northwest Natura

Unique and informative wild mushroom forays bring you to beautiful wild places bursting with fungi diversity. Join one or multiple outings to get the most out of the season. 

To sign up for multiple dates, you will need to purchase them individually in separate transactions. Locations will be in public and/or private forested areas around Whatcom County. Precise details remain TBA as they are contingent on the fungi, but these trips will be no more than 1 hour outside of Bellingham. You will receive an email with location information 2-4 days before your event(s). 

What to expect: Introductory lesson on mushroom ecology, foraging, and identification. Learn how to find your own “secret spot” using ecological cues, digital maps and other tried-and-true scouting techniques. Learn about land use laws, foraging permits, safety, and nature awareness. Learn the ecology of fungi, vocabulary, and important features for identification. Boost your confidence!
