Music Monday - Hobo West

A few years ago, Phil began to spend the winter months in the Palm Springs area where he and Bob met and discovered their mutual tastes in music, and began playing together as Hobo West. They play around the Coachella Valley, November through April.

Bob Bowne: Bass / Vocals - Performing with local Michigan bands after high school, Bob toured the Midwest with a number of bands, performing various musical genres. He had a successful music career performing at Northern Michigan resort properties before relocating to California, where he continued his musical journey with the rock band, “The Bi-Polar Bears”. Bob resides in Indio, CA, and Manistee, MI, enjoying musical projects at both ends of his “fair weather” seasons.

Phil Paige: Guitar/Vocals - Phil grew up in the Seattle area and also began playing in garage bands in high school. He still plays with one of those bands, The Pontunes, as well as several singer/songwriter solo shows, throughout the PNW during the summer months.

We acknowledge that Whatcom County is located on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples. They cared for the lands that included what we’d call the Puget Sound region, Vancouver Island and British Columbia since time immemorial. This gives us the great obligation and opportunity to learn how to care for our surrounding areas and all the natural and human resources we require to live. We express our deepest respect and gratitude for our indigenous neighbors, the Lummi Nation and Nooksack Tribe, for their enduring care and protection of our shared lands and waterways.
