Nooksack Nordic Ski Club Meeting

The Nooksack Nordic Ski Club – We make Nordic skiing in Whatcom County happen! Open to all! Find out who we are, what we do, what’s happening, and a dessert social!

We'll have short presentations of the things with which the club is active: Our local Salmon Ridge SnoPark (mile 46.9 on the Mt. Baker Highway), work parties happening before the snow falls, back-country ski trails, multi-day group ski trips to places with more snow, free, individualized Nordic ski lessons, travel to the Tuesday night race series in Canada, & loaner equipment – find out about different types of Nordic skis.

We’d call this a ‘dessert potluck’, but we don’t want anyone to not attend because they don’t have a dessert to bring. But if you are so moved to bring a plate of a little ‘finger food dessert’ to share, we would put it out on the table and enjoy it! We promise the presentations will be *short* and there will be time to chat and dessert.

We acknowledge that Whatcom County is located on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples. They cared for the lands that included what we’d call the Puget Sound region, Vancouver Island and British Columbia since time immemorial. This gives us the great obligation and opportunity to learn how to care for our surrounding areas and all the natural and human resources we require to live. We express our deepest respect and gratitude for our indigenous neighbors, the Lummi Nation and Nooksack Tribe, for their enduring care and protection of our shared lands and waterways.
