Exhibit Highlights Artists’ Love for Pacific Northwest Trees

“Woodland Reverie: The Art of Helen Loggie” celebrates a defining characteristic of life in Bellingham and the greater Pacific Northwest.

"Spring tends to heighten our love of the outdoors, so it’s perfect timing today that Cascadia Art Museum opens its new exhibition, “Woodland Reverie: The Art of Helen Loggie.”

Woodland Reverie actually features four women: Three Bellingham artists — Loggie (1895 to 1976), Elizabeth Colborne (1885 to 1948) and Z. Vanessa Helder (1904 to 1968) — and award-winning contemporary artist Donna Leavitt of Edmonds. All of them love trees."

We acknowledge that Whatcom County is located on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples. They cared for the lands that included what we’d call the Puget Sound region, Vancouver Island and British Columbia since time immemorial. This gives us the great obligation and opportunity to learn how to care for our surrounding areas and all the natural and human resources we require to live. We express our deepest respect and gratitude for our indigenous neighbors, the Lummi Nation and Nooksack Tribe, for their enduring care and protection of our shared lands and waterways.
