Get Ready for Green Home Tours & Talks
The Green Home Tours & Talks is back this August.
Sustainable Connections welcomes you to come along for the Green Home Tours & Talks week, which involves five events around Whatcom County during the week of August 17th through 21st.
“Over the years, the Green Home Tour has drawn thousands of community members and grown into Whatcom County's biggest green home event,” Nico Cusick, Energy & Green Building Program Manager shared, “This year's lineup features some of the most prominent green builders in our region showcasing what's possible for more sustainable buildings in our community.”
The week will begin with a Happy Hour Kick-off on August 17th at K2 Kulshan Brewing Company with speakers discussing green building topics. Each day following will feature a home that embodies green building innovation in our local community:
• Beginning with the South Fork Pretty Good Homestead, a non-traditional home with a unique flair, on the 18th by Confluence Building Company.
• Explore the Kulshan Community Land Trust's LaFreniere Court, Equity Place, hosted by Ecotech Solar on the 19th.
• On the 20th head over to Legend Homes’ Parkstone project, a net-zero family home.
• Conclude this week of celebration on August 21st with True Bearing Built’s Sixth Street Passive House, which features both a single-family home and detached accessory dwelling unit.
“There's something really special about walking through these homes to inspire your own sustainability journey,” commented Elizabeth Vaughn, Program Coordinator, “We hope folks can join us every day of the tour!”

Green Home Tours & Talks, hosted by Sustainable Connections’ Energy & Green Building Program, is a long-time community favorite event that showcases the work being done locally to conserve resources and reduce the impact on the environment. This event is free and open to all to learn about the green building innovation by our local builders.
