Get Ready for Summer with Kulshan Especial

Kulshan Brewing Company kicks off Bellingham Beer Week with a new addition to their year round offerings; Kulshan Especial Mexican-Style Pale Lager. A crushable and refined lager with crisp malt notes, it's a refreshing summer or any time of year beverage, especially when paired with a lime wedge.

“I haven't been this excited about a new beer release in a long time!” Says Wes Finger, Kulshan Head Brewer, “Kulshan Especial encompasses SO many of the things I love about lager beers; malt-focused balance, high drinkability, elegance, and history. Our neighbors to the South in Mexico have been brewing pale lagers similar to Especial for nearly 150 years, and we're so stoked to be able to offer this Bellingham-brewed take on the style.”

Kulshan Especial will officially be released on Thursday, April 20th. To celebrate the release, Kulshan is offering discounted pricing on 6-packs, 12-packs, and cases of Kulshan Especial in both taprooms through the weekend.

If that isn’t reason enough to make Kulshan your destination this weekend, you can cruise down to the Roosevelt taproom on Friday, April 21st to participate in – or heckle those participating in – the Kulshan Beer Olympics, or stop by either taproom on Saturday for the release of “The Special” Michelada Mix, a Kulshan x HOSA collab. It’s a spicy, tart, and salty Michelada Mix created to pair perfectly with Kulshan Especial.

Chances are, if you are partaking in Bellingham Beer Week, a hair of the dog beer might be in order. Kulshan taprooms will have $6 draft Michelada specials running Saturday and Sunday, as well as special pricing for this fun and delicious pairing when you bundle them together to take home!

We acknowledge that Whatcom County is located on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples. They cared for the lands that included what we’d call the Puget Sound region, Vancouver Island and British Columbia since time immemorial. This gives us the great obligation and opportunity to learn how to care for our surrounding areas and all the natural and human resources we require to live. We express our deepest respect and gratitude for our indigenous neighbors, the Lummi Nation and Nooksack Tribe, for their enduring care and protection of our shared lands and waterways.
