Sustainable Connections invites all food businesses, farmers and fishermen to the NW Washington Farm-to-Table Trade Meeting on February 19, 2019 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Bellingham Technical College in Bellingham, WA.
The Farm-to-Table Trade Meeting brings together 180+ farmers, fishermen, food artisans, restaurants, grocers, and others interested in sourcing local ingredients or selling local food. It's one of the leading food and farming business conferences held in the region, generating approximately $500,000 in new business-to-business sales each year. Past attendees report an average of six new sales connections as a result of the event! There will be facilitated networking, one-on-one consultations for food buyers and sellers, a vibrant expo, educational workshops, and top speakers from around the region. In addition, Spanish translation services will be available for attendees at talks and workshops.
Hannah Clark, the Pacific Northwest Director of the American Farmland Trust (AFT) will deliver the keynote address on the state of farmland in our region, and how the AFT has helped family farms protect their land from development and kept rural communities viable. Breakout sessions include Emotionally Intelligent Customer Service, Buying & Selling for Wholesale Markets, Scaling Your Business Up, and Building an Authentic Brand.
One of the biggest highlights of the conference, a seasonally inspired seven-course lunch, is also back. Made by the Northwest Washington Chef’s Collective and the Bellingham Technical College Culinary Arts program, the lunch is a tribute to local producers and chefs. Early bird registration ends January 18th, with pricing and registration on the Sustainable Connections events webpage.
