Port of Bellingham Seeking Ballot Proposition Committee Members
PUBLIC NOTICE FOR WHATCOM COUNTY RESIDENTS
The Port of Bellingham Board of Commissioners is seeking community members to serve on committees to advocate either for or against a ballot proposition that would increase the number of Port commissioners from three to five, with each representing one of five newly drawn districts. The ballot proposition is scheduled for the November 4, 2025 general election.
Each committee will be responsible for writing a “For” or “Against” statement of up to 250 words that will appear in the Whatcom County Local Voters Pamphlet. These statements must be submitted by August 11, 2025. Each committee will have the opportunity to submit a rebuttal statement of up to 75 words, due by August 14, which will also appear in the Whatcom County Local Voters Pamphlet.
Interested individuals must complete this THIS APPLICATION no later than 4 pm on July 23, 2025. No more than three individuals may be appointed to each committee.

The Port Commission anticipates appointing committee members at a Special Commission Meeting scheduled for 9 am on July 24, 2025 via Zoom.
