2019 Smart Business Summit March 28

Sustainable Connections, in partnership with the Community Food Co-op, is excited to announce the 2019 Smart Business Summit on March 28, 2019 from 12 p.m. – 5 p.m. at the Ferndale Pioneer Pavilion Community Center.

At the Summit, investigate how and why purpose-driven businesses succeed. Learn how to unlock the power of people at the Summit, and create a meaningful workplace that benefits both employees and the Bellingham community. The Summit will be the kickoff event for the 2019 Business Leadership Series, shorter workshops that will be held quarterly.

The event keynote will be Monique Stefens, a local expert and international facilitator. Monique has a background in psychology and adult education and has specialized in helping others create healthy and equitable work environments.  She has taught a variety of courses that range from Navigating a Multigenerational Workplace to The Science of Happiness in the Workplace. At the Summit, Monique will speak to the economics of inclusions and will explore the trends, research and best practices around sustainability of your largest asset, people.

With inspiring speakers, powerful panelists, and valuable insights, other Summit highlights include:

Networking with other businesses and community leaders

  • Local Leaders Business Panel: A varied and diverse panel that will share about challenges faced and how bold action can lead to better success.
  • Defining Your Quadruple Bottom Line Workshop: Times are changing and so is sustainability! Learn about the 4th pillar and identify the next steps your business can take
  • Delicious local lunch will be provided Crave Catering

This event is made possible by support from the Community Food Co-op, Healthy Pet, and Business Support Services Northwest.
