City of Blaine Hosts Old Fashioned 4th of July Celebration

What’s red, white and blue, and fun all over? The community event hosted by Blaine, WA for an Old Fashioned 4th of July celebration. Come early to find a great spot to enjoy the parade, then stay late to experience the fireworks.

The seaside town of Blaine welcomes all to experience everything red, white and blue. Located “where America begins,” and nestled on Drayton Harbor and the US/Canada border just off I-5, Blaine will be kicking off its 16th annual celebration on Tuesday, July 4th with day long festivities.

The event will include:

  • A hearty pancake breakfast starting at 8 a.m.
  • An old fashioned 4th of July parade at noon
  • A spectacular show & shine car show of over 200 classic vehicles
  • A festive street fair with a full line-up of live music
  • Dazzling fireworks display at dusk over the bay

There is plenty of time to join in the parade if you are interested in participating.

Parade staging is on a first come, first served basis on the 4th, beginning as early as 9:00 am.  Parade judging is at 11 a.m.  If you are feeling spontaneous, there is no need to pre-register to participate, however it is recommended to fill out the parade registration form ahead of time and bring to the parade line up.

Most entries are free, there is a fee of $25 for political entries and a $10 entry fee for businesses which are not members of the Blaine Community Chamber.  You can register your parade entry on Event Brite ahead of time and for parade information or to download a parade entry form go to www.blainechamber.com or call 360-332-4544.

For a complete event schedule go to www.blainechamber.com.
