Fairhaven Outdoor Cinema summer line-up offers big screen flicks, variety entertainment

Big screen movies and a variety of fun entertainers will be featured at this summer’s Fairhaven Outdoor Cinema series presented by Ben Kinney & Keller Williams Realty. Now in its nineteenth season of Saturday night movies, the series kicks off on June 23, 2018, with the 1985 adventure-comedy “The Goonies” followed by the superhero hit “Wonder Woman” on June 30, 2018. The series continues in July with the animated hit “Ferdinand” on July 7, the 2017 version of “Jumanji” on July 14, the musical sensation “The Greatest Showman” on July 21 and the animated family favorite “Coco” on July 28. August showings include the superhero action-comedy “Thor: Ragnarok” on Aug. 4, family baseball classic “The Sandlot” on Aug. 11 and the 2018 blockbuster “Black Panther” on Aug. 18. In true Fairhaven Outdoor Cinema tradition, “The Princess Bride” will be featured at the series finale on Aug. 25. More than movies, the Fairhaven Outdoor Cinema includes a variety of live entertainment including musical performers, cirque shows and even an improv comedy show. Movies are shown on the 30-foot screen at the Village Green in the historic Fairhaven community of south Bellingham. Events are rain or shine with ground seating available on grass and very limited chair seating on the surrounding brick areas. Admission is 5$ per person and includes an entry for live entertainment, giveaways and all event festivities. Five and under is free. More information about movies, entertainment and event times can be found at www.FairhavenOutdoorCinema.com or on Facebook. The series is produced by Epic Events and supported by Ben Kinney & Keller Williams Realty, First Federal, Country Financial, KAFE 104.1, Cascadia Weekly and the Historic Fairhaven Association.

We acknowledge that Whatcom County is located on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples. They cared for the lands that included what we’d call the Puget Sound region, Vancouver Island and British Columbia since time immemorial. This gives us the great obligation and opportunity to learn how to care for our surrounding areas and all the natural and human resources we require to live. We express our deepest respect and gratitude for our indigenous neighbors, the Lummi Nation and Nooksack Tribe, for their enduring care and protection of our shared lands and waterways.
