18th Annual Doctober Film Festival Announces 2025 Dates

Doctober, the Pacific Northwest’s largest documentary film festival will commence for its 18th year on October 2nd through October 26th.

Each October the Pickford showcases Doctober—a month-long documentary film festival dedicated to one of Bellingham’s proven favorite genres. Doctober is the largest documentary festival in the Northwest, screening approximately 35 films in one month. For this festival the Pickford partners with local organizations to bring important issues to the screen; many presentations feature special guests, filmmakers, pre-screening receptions, and guided group discussions.

Doctober is a production Pickford Film Center, Bellingham’s non-profit independent cinema. This year, we’re thrilled to have our second venue expansion, The Grand, open during the festival.

The full film lineup will be announced on September 5th, 2025 on our website.

About Doctober

Doctober is the largest documentary film festival in the Pacific Northwest, happening each year in the heart of downtown Bellingham, WA amidst the panoramic wonders of Mt. Baker and the North Cascades.

About Pickford Film Center

Pickford Film Center, a nonprofit organization, provides a forum and resource for independent cinema, strengthening community through education, dialogue and the celebration of film. Since its founding in 1998, it has been the only independent cinema, operating 365 days a year, between Seattle and Vancouver B.C.

We acknowledge that Whatcom County is located on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples. They cared for the lands that included what we’d call the Puget Sound region, Vancouver Island and British Columbia since time immemorial. This gives us the great obligation and opportunity to learn how to care for our surrounding areas and all the natural and human resources we require to live. We express our deepest respect and gratitude for our indigenous neighbors, the Lummi Nation and Nooksack Tribe, for their enduring care and protection of our shared lands and waterways.
