ABCDance Presents “Lindy Hop: Back to Basics” 5-Week Series

With over a decade of teaching swing for WWU Swing Kids, Kevin and Alissa Stock are ready start a new adventure - sharing their love of Lindy Hop with the Bellingham community through ABCDance. The Lindy Hop series will begin April 10 from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., and continue every Monday for 5-weeks. The entire series of classes will cost $50, or you can pay $12 for drop-in. Their 5-week swing dance series "Lindy Hop: Back to Basics" is geared toward adults with no swing dancing experience or those who are familiar with some Lindy Hop moves but want more practice going over great fundamental principles. This 5-week series will cover foundation moves like Lindy Circle and Swing Out in-depth. With hopes that students will build on other moves like promenades and inside & outside turns. You do not need a partner to participate in this series. Kevin and Alyssa’s teaching style emphasizes building connection and momentum with your dance partner(s). Their instruction also covers staying grounded in the music to grow both confidence and skill on the dance floor. If you would like to join, the dance studio is located on 1844 N. State Street Bellingham, Washington.

We acknowledge that Whatcom County is located on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples. They cared for the lands that included what we’d call the Puget Sound region, Vancouver Island and British Columbia since time immemorial. This gives us the great obligation and opportunity to learn how to care for our surrounding areas and all the natural and human resources we require to live. We express our deepest respect and gratitude for our indigenous neighbors, the Lummi Nation and Nooksack Tribe, for their enduring care and protection of our shared lands and waterways.
