BAAY Summer Bash

Kick off the summer with your friends from BAAY — Bellingham Arts Academy for Youth! This all-ages event will include food and drinks, BAAY merch for sale, yard games, activities, and a program starting at 4PM featuring live music, speeches, and special performances. This event is hosted by Time and Materials Taphouse, located just one block up from BAAY on North State St. Admission is by donation, and all proceeds will go to BAAY's student scholarship fund!

Each year, BAAY provides over $40,000 in financial aid to students who wouldn’t otherwise be able to participate in our programs. This commitment to equitable arts access requires support in other ways, and we hope the community will join us and celebrate for a good cause!

Note: This is not a child drop-off event. Adults must stay with their kids if they require supervision.

Location: Time and Materials Taphouse

954 N State St, Bellingham, WA 98225

Date: Sunday, June 30

Event Timeline:

3:00 PM - doors open

4:00 PM - performances and speeches

About BAAY: Founded in 2006, Bellingham Arts Academy for Youth (BAAY) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to enriching children’s lives through the exploration of the arts. We believe that the arts are an essential component of education. We enroll over 1500 children ages 5-17 annually in our EduArts and Theatre programs, and provide over $40,000 per year in tuition waivers to remove financial barriers to participation. Learn how you can support the sustainability of this work at baay.org/support.

We acknowledge that Whatcom County is located on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples. They cared for the lands that included what we’d call the Puget Sound region, Vancouver Island and British Columbia since time immemorial. This gives us the great obligation and opportunity to learn how to care for our surrounding areas and all the natural and human resources we require to live. We express our deepest respect and gratitude for our indigenous neighbors, the Lummi Nation and Nooksack Tribe, for their enduring care and protection of our shared lands and waterways.
