Bellingham Repertory Dance (BRD) is thrilled to announce its 19th season of bringing vibrant contemporary dance to Bellingham. To celebrate this landmark, the nonprofit dance collective is hosting a season kick-off party on Friday, August 2 at the Firehouse Arts and Events Center. Community members are invited to join BRD in raising a glass to another year of exciting dance performances!
BRD’s Season Kick-Off Party is a free admission event with food and drink available for purchase from the Firehouse Cafe, as well as a special sneak peek at what’s to come this year. BRD will also launch an online campaign at the event with the goal of raising $5,200 in 30 days to help cover the costs of their fall repertory concert. Attendees will be encouraged to donate at the event and gifts of any amount (even just $5!) will be appreciated.
Producing high-quality shows costs thousands of dollars in choreographer fees and travel, rehearsal and venue space rentals, costumes and props, and production staff stipends. BRD is entirely volunteer-run, and none of the dancers are paid for their time spent in rehearsals, meetings, or doing the administrative work of running the nonprofit. BRD invites the community to help make season 19 as big and beautiful as it can possibly be!
Bellingham Repertory Dance is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization offering high-level dance productions, as well as class and performance opportunities for the community. To learn more about BRD, or for more information about the event and fundraiser, visit bhamrep.org.
